NOTICE OF RACE
July 28, 2014 (Update to original June 12, 2014 NOR)


(This Notice of Race may be amended from time to time pursuant to Rule 89.2.) 

The regatta will be organized by Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club.

1. Rules
1.1  The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2 Racing rules listed below will be changed as indicated.The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing instructions may also change other racing rules.

  1. Rule 61 will be changed to require a boat to inform a Race Committee finish immediately after finishing of its intention to protest another boat and provide the sail number of the protested boat.

2. Advertising

2.1    Advertising is restricted per ISAF Regulation 20.2.1 and Table 1 to Event Advertising only.

         Boats may be required to display sponsor advertising chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority.

3. Eligibility and Entry

3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 classes.

4. Registration; Entry Fees

4.1 The Registration fee is $65. Registration can be completed online at www.lehyc.org. The registration page can be found under Racing / Regattas / Fall Classic. Competitors shall have completed all parts of the online registration form together with all fees paid, by September 26, 2014. Additional late entry fees of US $20 shall be paid for late registrations completed between September 27, 2014 through 7 PM on October 10, 2014.

4.2 Registration includes completing online registration including the Waiver and Medical form and paying the entry fee.

4.3 Registration will be closed at 7PM on October 10, 2012.

5. Format of the Regatta


5.1 The regatta will include races for Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 fleets. The Race Committee will determine the number of races and course setup based on conditions the day of the event.

6. Measurement


6.1 All competitors are expected to sail with Laser Class legal equipment. Class designated safety equipment is required.

6.2 Each boat shall pass a safety check prior to launching on the first day.

8. Venue

The racing area will be Little Egg Harbor about 1.5 miles northwest of the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club.

9. The Course


The course will be included in the Sailing Instructions.

10. Scoring


10.1 The Low Point Scoring System of rule Appendix A will apply.

10.2 There are 7 Races scheduled. 1 Race shall constitute the regatta.

11. Personal Buoyancy

11.1 In addition to the requirements of rule 40 and its US Prescription, a condition of entry and participation in this regatta is the wearing of a US Coast Guard approved PFD properly secured at all times while on the water, except for brief periods while removing or adding clothing, or for international sailors only, a PFD approved by their country’s corresponding authority.Wet suits, dry suits and inflatable PFD’s do not constitute adequate personal buoyancy.

12. Safety and Adult Responsibility

12.1   An adult (Parent, guardian or designated adult) is responsible for the safety of the each sailor.  It is the responsibility solely of this adult to decide if the sailor should sail in the weather and sea conditions that might arise during the event.  The adults supervising the competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks.

12.2   Parents not personally attending any part of the event shall ensure that another adult is authorized and designated to make these decisions for their sailor.

12.3   The designated adult shall accept full responsibility for all actions of the competitor during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

13. Coaches and Support boats

13.1 The conduct of coach, support boats and all other boats including spectator boats will be governed by the Sailing Instructions.

           Laser Radial Fleet - Overall: 1st through 5th

           Laser 4.7 Fleet – Overall:  1st through 5th

15.     Qualification for Future Events

          This regatta is not considered a qualifying event

16.    Disclaimer of Liability

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. A waiver shall be signed by all competitors and their parent/guardian.
